The weekend of December 27th through the 29th a bunch of rmta-ers,
lurkers, and hostages met in Cincinnatti, Ohio at an event we called "Toricon ’96."
we stayed in the Hyatt Regency, on the 19th floor, and had a great time staying up until
silly hours of the morning (those of us who went to sleep that is). We talked, got breakfast,
and had a banquet on saturday night in the bearcat room. We enjoyed caffeine, alcohol, pop rocks,
and sweet-tart bears. We received pins and t-shirts and condoms, and the consensus seems to be
that everyone had a wonderful time, and no one really wanted to leave quite as soon as we did.
My con photos took a while to scan, but they’re up on the net:
go take a look!

Toricon ’97 was held in Denver, Colorado over the weekend of August 8th through the 10th,
although many of us arrived early and left late. We had several good meals, good laughs,
and good cries, and we’ve been left with a whole host of stories and memories. I could go on for pages,
but others have done it so much better. See
JB’s
or
Karen’s
memories of the event.
ToriCon ’98 took place in Atlanta, Georgia the weekend of August 7-9.
As usual, there was a lot of voluntary sleep deprivation, helpless giggling, and
really deep thoughts. For individual accounts, see the post-con posts of
JB Bridge
or
bramble.
ToriCon ’99 took place in Portland, Oregand the weekend of August 6-8. It will live
in infamy as the ConstructionCon. A lot of people learned a lesson about what makes a
Bad Hotel. Read the details about it in the long and complex
Portland report.
ToriCon 2k took place in Durham, North Carolina the weekend of August 4-6. We enjoyed the
usual banquet and dance on Saturday, after a group outing to the hands-on
Museum of Life and Science.
The exotic butterflies! The drums! Follow the event yourself with the

thread, or live it vicariously through

ToriCon ’01 took place in Tucson, Arizona the weekend of August 10-12. For memories
of Toricon ’01, see what
Lydia and Rosser
or
JB
had to say.
ToriCon ’02 took place in Detroit, Michigan the weekend of August 2-4. This year’s banquet and dance
were held away from the hotel, at
Woodbridge Star Urban Inn.

ToriCon ’03 took place in St. Louis, Missouri on the weekend of August 15-17, 2003. See

of the event. Or check out JB’s
part one,
part two,
and
part three.
